Last year, the Samaj Annual Day was celebrated on Friday, the 19th of December. The children from our “Baala Vrinda”, aged 3 to 16 years, were among the first to go on stage with an hour-long presentation that was a beautiful combination of dance & drama with “Naraseve -Narayanaseve” (Service to Humanity is Service to God) as the underlying common theme.
Here we present Bharatanatyam recital by Kumari Nischita Pai who made an auspicious beginning by dancing to Muttuswami Dikshitar’s beautiful composition, an invocation to Lord Ganesha set in Hamsadhwani raga: “Vaatapi Ganapatim bhaje”.
Nischita is the daughter of Smt.Nikita & Shri Venkatesh Pai and a student of Our Own English High School, Dubai. This bubbly 15-year-old with a ready smile recently passed her Grade 10 exams securing 92% marks. She has been a student of Bharatanatyam since the age of 5 and is currently training under Smt.Arti Agarwal of Harmony Musical Institute, Dubai.
