Konkani Sammelan 2012 – Welcome!
Here’s what we’ve planned for you:
We are organizing exceptional entertainment/cultural programs, seminars, workshops, games and activities for all ages, including an all-day Medical Symposium. In addition, you will get chance to:
- Attend reunion forums for alumni of engineering colleges such as IITs, KREC and MIT (Manipal)
- Network in special sessions for doctors, IT and finance professionals
- Meet, hear and hobnob with the community’s high achievers, like Mohandas Pai, Shyam Benegal, Dayanand Pai, Jayant Baliga, Basti Vaman Shenoy, Floyd Cardoz, Kalpana Lajmi, Amrita Rao and Mahalaxmi Shenoy
Please visit our website for more information and registration for the special optional Medical Symposium, ‘Health Care in the 21St Century’ to be held on Friday. The Health Commissioners from New York and New Jersey, and other leading experts will be speaking and answering your questions at the Medical Symposium. At the Sammelan, children below 18 will get opportunity to participate in interesting programs designed specifically for them. For kids from ages 3 to 9, we have arranged a fun Konkani kids’ camp provided by YMCA right at the Sammelan facility.
Become an “insider” (volunteer):
The best way to experience and enjoy the Sammelan is to become an “insider” and volunteer. The Konkani Sammelan is a community event put together entirely by volunteers. There’s no greater pleasure than being a part of this core group. Please fill out the Volunteer Form on our website to indicate your interest.
Go above and beyond (contribute):
Registration fees for the 3 day event have been designed to enable the most people in the community to attend. The fact is, registration fees cover only a fraction of the cost of organizing a Sammelan. We need your support. Make a donation by check or Pay Pal through our website. Sponsor a Sammelan event such as breakfast or other meal. No donation is too small. If you are a professional or own a business, run an ad in the Sammelan Souvenir magazine. Unable to attend this Sammelan for any reason? Please consider donating to this unique and important Konkani event anyway. All net donations through NAKA (North American Konkani Association) are tax-deductible in the US. You can send your donations or payments for souvenir advertisements directly by making your check payable to “North American Konkani Association (NAKA)” and mailing to: Konkani Sammelan 2012, 14 Raphael Drive, Monmouth Junction, NJ 08852, USA.
